LORENZO URAYAN

Welcome to my collection of artwork.

Here, you will find case studies of some of my most prominent projects in a variety of fields such as short films, games, and public events.

Choose a project, and I will break down the obstacles that I had to overcome, along with how I solved those issues.

the PROCESS

concept art

The main stars of the show were designed under concept art before being passed to 3D modelling. Other props were based on real life objects, such as toothpicks or NERF darts.

modelling and texturing

Since all of the props and chracters were designed to mimic real life objects and toys, a pass of wear and scratches were applied onto their textures.

Asset Field

Using a program called CamTrackAR,  the app is able to record the iPhones internal movement data. This removed the need to create tracking markers, or deal with the complications of motion blur or long processing times on longer footage.

These include the first tests with this workflow.

proof of concept

One complication is that the movement is locked, which means a lack of flexibility if I wanted to make any changes.

It is still possible, but it taught me to be more considerate in blocking and camera choreography

Final

By creating a separate object to parent to the camera, it became possible to counteract and manipulate the movement while still maintaining the energy and motion from the original reference clip.
