Rebis is a rogue-like dungeon crawler where you play as a peasant that has to restore peace after dark magic begins to spread and corrupt town. As one of the few townfolk left that has not been affected by the Dark Wave, you’re forced to uncover the source of this magical plague and reverse it’s effects.

The concept art for this personal project is highly focused on world building through displaying the final boss of the room and the weapon it brandishes. UI and inventory mechanics are also visualized to further support the concept.

Upon arriving at the final boss room, you discover that this is the place where it all connects together. Occupying the space is The Rebis, the magnum opus of alchemy.

Stories described The Rebis as a divine hermaphrodite, the perfect unification of the physical and the spirit. However, it is nothing more than a sad frankenstein of experimentation and hubris.

What was once a beautiful research lab of discovery, is now an academic battlefield for bloodshed.

This enchanted mace was designed for the royal that has succumbed to their overzealous pursuit of divinity.

Multiple explorations focused on the shape of the mace itself and the hilt connecting the staff.

The final design depicts two figures trapped between, representing the suffering of the man and women that were sewn together to create The Rebis.
